Show I NEWS FROM SUMMIT Mrs. Danna Davenport A deligtful Ward Party was held here Tuesday evening of last week in honor of the retiring re-tiring Bishopric. The activities began with a chicken dinner followed by a program which featured all the Primary children child-ren and the MIA people, performing per-forming in groups and alone, in songs, instrumental numbers num-bers and dances. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stapley of Gustine, Calif., sang a duet; Mrs, Val Ellis composed and gave a humorous humor-ous reading about the honored hon-ored guests, and Miss Jeanne White wrote and read a beautiful beau-tiful tribute to them. At the close of the entertainment, beautiful all-wool blankets were presented by the Ward members to the retiring Bishopric Bis-hopric and wives, Bp. and Mrs. Ivan Dalley, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Davenport and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Walker. Mrs. Dee El Stapley return- of Mrs. Hulda Peterson were Brit Kendall and daughters Kathy and Connie of Washington, Wash-ington, Utah. Miss Bonnie Dalley is here from Salt Lake City to spend part of her vacation with her folks, the Ivan Dalleys. Mr. and Mrs. Davenport met members of Jay's family in Cedar City Sunday evening for dinner and visiting his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Davenport and sisters and family members, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux of Paragonah, Paragon-ah, Mrs. Dott Smith, Parowan; Mrs. Rachael Smith, Georgetown, George-town, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Montague and Mary Jo of Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Arden Richards returned home Sunday after spending the weekend at Grand Canyon with their daughter Myra. ed home from the Valley View Medical Center Sunday wit! her new baby son and was greeted by a daughter anc three other sons. Hu-let Hu-let left Monday for Powell, Wyo., to visit with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Mickelsen and family and to take their granddaughter, Valerie Mickelsen, Mickel-sen, home after a month's stay here. Another granddaughter, Diane Hulet, accompanied them. Mrs. Herbert White spent several days last week in the Valley View Medical Center. Mrs. Carlisle Hulet accompanied accom-panied the 4-H girls, Diane Hulet, Valerie Mickelsen, Sher-lynn Sher-lynn White and Marlene Dai- ton to Duck Creek last week for their annual camp. Visiting here at the present time with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Evans and family is a nephew, Gary Evans of California. Mr. and Mrs. Val Dean Williams Wil-liams spent several days last week at Grand Canyon. They also attended the Ute Stampede Stam-pede in Neph, then traveled to Salt Lake City and Hunter where they visited with Mrs. Williams's sister and family, the Conley Adams. Lyle and Jack Farrow returned re-turned home Sunday from a busineis trip to Salt Lake City. Ci-ty. Mr. and Mr. Dean Wallace of Ogden spent Monday of last week visiting here with the Frank Dalleys. Their sons are missionary companions in Brazil. Mrs. Frank Dalley and son Mark traveled to Panguitch Thursday of last week where Mark met his cousin Kenneth Dalton of California for a fishing trip. Mrs. Dalley visited vis-ited with her sister, Mrs. Jay Riggs and family. Recent visitors at the home |
