Show Taking a Look At Our City Park A place of beauty on the Parowan City Park during the past several weeks, has been the Memorial Rose Garden, which reached its peak of color col-or about July 4, and although dropping many of its petals, new ones have opened up to help hold its attractiveness. Several new rose bushes were added this spring to almost fill the area and have come right along under the care of Mrs. Florence Mitchell, Mrs. Carol A. Wright and Mrs. Edna Ed-na Brown. The plantings of other flowers flow-ers bordering the south driveway drive-way to the Old Rock Church, by members of the ONO club, are now coming into their own and the small areas next to the steps leading to the relic hall of the church are showing up very well. The rose garden caretakers have also started a rock garden gar-den along the north side of the driveway to the Third Ward parking lot which is already al-ready adding to the attractive-1 ness or tne arive. The planting of petunias in the area around the War Memorial Monument on the Park are now starting to bloom under the watchful eye of the Legion Auxiliary ladies lad-ies headed by Mrs. Elaine Adams. The petunias and the evergreen shrubs around the Third Ward chapel add much to the attractiveness of the park from the Main Street side. Adding to the appearance of the park are the plantings of shrubbery around the new Parowan City Library and the well-kept lawns which now cover most of the area, now gives it a very attractive appearance. Only one small part of the park now needs to be planted to give our city the most attractive parks in the entire state. |
