Show Coleman Reveals Plans For More Expansion G. Lawrence Keller, corporate corpor-ate counsel, and Harold J. Fry-ar, Fry-ar, vice president for manufacturing manu-facturing of Coleman Company, Com-pany, disclosed last week at Wichita, Kan. of plans for a long range feasibility study on future expansion plans. Although tho disclosure concerned con-cerned expansion more specifically specifi-cally in the Wichita area, plans for developments in Cedar Ce-dar City were also discussed at a luncheon with city commission, com-mission, metropolitan area planning commission, Urban Renewal agency and chamber of commerce representatives. According to the Coleman officials the goal of the study stu-dy on which they are working work-ing will be to determine the location and manner of expanding ex-panding the production capacity capa-city of the company. It is Coleman's belief that this facility growth will be neeesary to the future to meet the anticipated needs of the outdoor recreation equipment markets to which Coleman sells its products. Currently under construction is a 20,000 square foot, second stage expansion to their new Somerset, Pa., factory and a scheduled 52,00 square foot addition ad-dition to a company plant in. Cedar City. Coleman plants in Los Angeles, An-geles, Somorset and Cedar City Ci-ty produce selected items of leisure-time equipment: tents, sleeping bags and camping trailers. As factory growth takes place at these locations, other products will be added to their existing production lines, the Wichita businessmen business-men were told. A recent article in the New York Time observed that the Wichita based concern would! continue to be one of the giants gi-ants in its industry in years to come.
