For Coach Cleo Petty and his T-Birds, it was their third and fourth victories of the season. Fine pitching by Larry Eyre and Hank Drogemuller and a total of 23 hits produced the I victories. Eyre went the distance in the opening victory giving up only four hits in the nine inning inn-ing affair. In the abbreviated seven inning second game Drogemuller gave up only one hit, and that came in the final inning of play. Steve Judd led the hitting barrage in the opening game with a three hun homer in the fifth frame and he wound up producing a total of five runs batted in. It was in the third frame, however, that the T-Birds put the game on ice with five runs on four hits. In the inning inn-ing 11 men came to the plate. Bruce Shaheen was also effective ef-fective at the plate with three hits in four official trips in-I in-I eluding two doubles and two i RBI's. i David Nevens paced the I CSU crew in the second battle bat-tle with two hits, a double and a triple, to produce four RBI's. The T-Birds took a lead with two runs on two hits in the second frame, added add-ed a third tally in the fourth, and pushed in five runs in the sixth to put them out of j |
