GORDON BETHKRS Mani&go ol Myrla Vee Hansen and Gordon Bathers in Idaho Falls Temple Announced honor while Connie Bethers, sister sis-ter of the bridegroom, was a bridesmaid. They wore identical street-length gowns of royal blue crystal pole with matching slippers slip-pers and halos attached to blue ! veils of bridesmaid illusion. They each carried a cascade bouquet of tinted royal blue carnations accented with royal blue and lime streamers and net backing. Lost man for the occasion was K. DeVere Hansen. Expressing a color theme of lime green and royal blue were dresses of the bride and bridegroom's bride-groom's mothers. Their ensembles ensem-bles were complete with matching match-ing white gardenia corsages. As a going away costume, the bride chose a cardinal red knit suit with black and white accessories. The marriage of Miss Myrla Vee Hansen and Gordon Bethers was solemnized Saturday in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Parley Grave, temple president officiated officiat-ed during the double ring rites. A reception honoring the new-lyweds new-lyweds was held at the Pocatello 19th Ward following the nuptial nup-tial ceremony. They were again honored at an open house in Cedar Ce-dar City Tuesday, March 22. The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Knowlin R. Hansen of Pocatello hosted the reception and the parents par-ents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Pratt M. Bethers, Cedar City, hosted the open house. Further nuptial parties will include an open house in Arlington, Va., Saturday, Sat-urday, April 7, which will be given giv-en by Congressman and Mrs. George V. Hansen. The bride is! The couple will honeymoon on the Eastern seaboard areas, including in-cluding New York Ci1y. The new Mrs. Bethers is a graduate of Brigham Young University. Uni-versity. She attended Idaho State University and has done graduate gradu-ate work at Northwestern University. Uni-versity. She also served an LDS Mission in Switzerland and had taught school in Bonneville and Weber high schools in Ogden before be-fore becoming secretary to Congressman Con-gressman George V. Hansen. Mr. Bethers was graduated from Brigham Young University where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. He is presently pres-ently working on a doctorate at the University of Maryland and is teaching at Washington College Col-lege in Maryland. He also ful- currently secretary to Congressman Congress-man Hansen. The bride's nuptial gown was a floor-length white Chantilly lace fashion with fitted bodice, scalloped neckline and long sleeves which came to a lily-point. lily-point. The skirt featured a scalloped scal-loped hemline and tiers of lace in a back panel. An elbow-length veil of imported silk illusion was attached to a two-tiered crown of lace, pearls and sequine. A cascade arrangement of white stephanotis, tufted white carnations carna-tions and lily-of-the-valley centered cen-tered a white orchid bouquet carried car-ried by the bride. Mrs. William E. Chandler, sister sis-ter of the bride was matron of filled a mission to tne Northwestern North-western States for the LDS Church. |
