These students from throughout southern Utah eathered on the CSU campus this past n.i.-f w.;..j -. ..jMrfrfrfc1 jMaU.U:.iL.,.wk,,'.hvi,tw-J-rH week to participate in the 18th annual Southern Utah Junior Science Fair. I Junior Division Science Fair Competition I Winners at College of So. Uiah ibncimccd j to go to the Greater Utah Science Fair at Brigham Young University Univer-sity on April 2. The two top winners win-ners from that competition will participate in the Science Fair International at Dallas, Texas May 11-14. !' Winners in the junior division '! of the 12th annual Science Fair ! held at College of Southern Utah i March 26 have been announced 1 1 by Professor Frank Faux and Dr. ji Russell Anderson, co-chairmen 1 1 of the event. A total of 26 south-i south-i ern Utah students participated in i the competition. ! Michael Fotheringham, Beaver, ji placed first in high school physi-ij physi-ij cal science competition. Roger ji Jones, Kanab, and Glen L. Niel-i Niel-i sen, Cedar City, took second and 1 1 third places, respectively. '! In biological science, Reed ! Reeve, Hurricane, and Gary i Pieklesimer, St. George, tied for 1 1 first place. Second and third i places went to Dale Hatch and 1 1 Randy Shirts, both of Cedar City ji In the junior hieh physical 1 1 science category, Gary Dean, ji Beaver, placed first. The team of 1 1 Kendrick Hafen and Ronald Mc-i Mc-i Arthur, St. George, won second. i Jim Shumate, Cedar City, gain-i gain-i ed third place. Steven Faux, Ceil Ce-il dar City, received honorable i mention. 1 1 Kraig Boyd, St. George, receiv-i receiv-i ed the first place award for par-; par-; ticipation in the junior high i school biological science com-j com-j petition. Tom Biederman, Cedar City, was second. Kim Seegmiller and Gary Walker, both of St. 1 George, won honorable mention. ! Reed Reeve was presented i with a silver pin for second place. 1 Judges for the activity were i Parley Dalley, CSU emeritus ! professor, and Professors George i LeBaron, Brent Palmer, and Richard Tebbs of the CSU faculty, i Other judges included Lee Nu- gent and Robert Huleck, engi-i engi-i neers for the state of Utah. Teachers assisting students i with projects were Davis Ballard and EIRoy L. Stucki, Beaver; Gary S. Smith, Glade Sorenson, Clyde Hunt, and Woodrow Tru-i Tru-i man, Cedar City; Wayne Robin-!
