Show Cloyd Orton Awarded Navy Wings of Gold Cloyd Orton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Orton of Cedar City, recently re-cently received his "Wings cf Gold," at the conclusion of an intensive advanced flight training train-ing program at Pensacola, Fla. Orton was also promoted to the rank of lieutenant, Junior grade, and assigned to a naval base at Virginia Beach, Va. where he will be flying the Navy's Na-vy's A4D Jet, better known as the "Skyhawk." Completion of the advanced Jet flight training of student naval na-val aviators, is the final stop before being assigned to operational opera-tional duty. While attached to the training unit at Pensacola Cloyd received approximately GO hours of flight time in mastering master-ing Jet formation, offensive and defensive tactics, navigation, bombing, rockets and aerial gunnery. gun-nery.
