Show Rowberry Expresses Intention To Seek TV Channel John Rowberry, who has pioneered pio-neered booster television service for Cedar City and vicinity, and who has been Interested in radio and television operations in the area for some time, issued a statement V'ednesday to the effect ef-fect that ho and his associates are con'emplating filing application applica-tion with the Federal Communications Communi-cations Commission for operation of a television service in this area. In making his statement, Mr. Rowberry said that leading officials offi-cials "f KNAK radio station in Salt Lake City, have agreed to join with him in filing application applica-tion for Channel 5 In Cedar City, the channel allocated by FCC to this area. He indicated that Jn his opinion the television service proposed by the local radio station sta-tion Is not satisfactory, and that he and his associates are determined deter-mined to establish a television station here, unless some type of better service is assured. , Mr. Rowberry points out that he and his associates had attempted at-tempted to purchase radio station sta-tion KSUB before the present owners consummated the deal In which local major holdings were purchased, and indicated that it had been planned then to include in-clude television in the operation. He stated that his group definitely defin-itely plans on applying for a television license and may take steps also to enter the radio fielc" here. |
