Show AS I SEE IT It is amazing to look back 30 years and see the changes that have taken place in Cedar City. Once we had the best horse races in the state. In fact we had several sev-eral horses that made track records. rec-ords. We had the best rodeos, the best fight cards, and everybody every-body wan'ed to come to Cedar City for sport and entertainment. But what have we got now? noth-ing noth-ing but frus'ration. The organizations organi-zations are figh'ing each other. The Church wants things its way, the Legion is all split, the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce doesn't get support. sup-port. It seems that every club and organiza'ion wants to do things their way, instead of working together for the better, ment of the community. The fight program seems to be coming com-ing back as it was in 1921 to 1930. It might be a good idea in this sputnik age if we all like off into space until we can come to our senses and work together to got good television and o'her entertainment that would attract people here. As I see it, it seems to be seems to be unfair for TC-TV to stop broadcasting without notifying notify-ing the people 30 days before. They should have at least laid their cards on the table. They may have received some help. But no, 15 minutes before signing sign-ing off they notified the public. I think that the TC-TV group should clear up the reasons as to why they s'opped broadcasting, because the people who have purchased television sets and puf their money behind this program have every right to know. It would also clear up a lot of talk and make the people feel better. I am sure that we can get television tele-vision here to stay, and good television too, if the community will make up its mind that it will have to pay for it. There is no such thing as free television. Clarence Lamoreaux |
