Show Ross Taylor Elected to Legion Post Command At the election meeting of Parowan Par-owan Post No. 20 of the American Ameri-can Legion, held at the county courthouse on Monday evening. Ross F. Taylor, local farmer and dairyman, was named as post commander, to succeed Heber Gurr, who has held this office during the past year. N. Merton Mitchell was named first vice commander and Earl Bunn second vice commander of the post. Norman Day was elect-! ed to the post of adjutant and finance officer, Ralph Hulet as first sergeant-at-arms, and Bruce Matheson second sergeant-alarms, and Leonard Topham as chaplain. The service officer of the post is appointive with V. Clair Rowley holding that posi tion for some time. Other retiring oi fleers of the post besides Gurr will be Albert Al-bert E. Adams and Bain Matheson, Mathe-son, first and second vice commanders, com-manders, respectively; Ralph S. Orton. adjutant; Kent Mitchell, finance officer; Homer Adams, sergeant-at-arms, and Evan Bay-les, Bay-les, chaplain. The new officers will be installed in-stalled at a a program and barbecue bar-becue dinner to be held at the Five Mile recreation camp on I Friday evening. Aug. 24 with the I installation ceremonies to be directed di-rected by Steve Williams of Mil- I ford, commander of Utah District , No. 7 of the organization. All legionnaires of Post 20 and .their wives and partners are invited in-vited and urged to attend, alone ! with prospective members who ! may pay their dues anytime b jfore the barbecue, or they will j be received at that time says Commander Gurr. |
