Show Reuben Herbert Walker Rendered Last Rites I Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the First Ward chapel Tuesday Tues-day afternoon for Reuben Herbert Walker, 80, long time resident of XedarClty, who died Friday, Aug. Id at Monte-Bethv Calif. Mr. Walker was born in Cedar City on Dec. 20, 1875 a son of Joseph and Emma Smith Walker and had spent most of his life here. He has engaged in farming farm-ing and livestock raising all of his life, and was a prominent and popular member of the community commu-nity ( through&ut his years, and will be remembered by many for his congeniality. He had spent the past few years living in California. Cali-fornia. On May 7. 1902 he married Lena Ash, who died Feb. 7, 1920, On June 7, 1922 he married Catherine Cath-erine Williams, who survives him. Also surviving him are six sons and one daughter, Jack, Dee, and Herbert Walker, all of Cedar City; Miles Walker and Mrs. Edna Williams, Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif.; Blaine Walker. Ne-phi, Ne-phi, and Keith Walker. Henderson, Hender-son, Nev. Also surviving are a step-son and step-daughter, Earl Bloomgren, Atascadero, Calif, and Norma Walker, Los Angeles, 19 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. great-grandchild. Speakers at the funeral services serv-ices were Lehl M. Jones, Samuel F. Leigh and Bishop Parson U. Webster. Family prayer was by Owen Matheson, Invocation oy Fernlelgh Gardner," benediction by Millard Halterman, and dedi-cation dedi-cation of the grave by Grant B. Hunter. The musical program included includ-ed a vocal duet. "The Lord Is My Shepherd" by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood, accompanied by Bernella Jones; a voca solo, "Whispering Hope" by L. F. Luke, accompanied by Bernella Jones and Miriam Luke, and a vocal solo, "Lay My Head Beneth a Rose," by Ray Cosslett, accompanied accom-panied by Belle Jones. |
