Show I Blain David Smith Dies in Baltimore, Md. Blaine David Smith, 52. brother broth-er of Mrs. Kimball and Mrs. Oliver Jensen of Cedar City, died August 3, In Baltimore, Md., of a lingering illness. His body was shipped to Cedar City for burial In the Cedar City cemetery. Mr. SmiJ: was born in Glen-dale, Glen-dale, Utah, May 21, 1908, a son of David A. and Sarah Jane Hopkins Hop-kins Smith. He was an electrician electri-cian by trade, and was an active ac-tive member of the LDS church. Survivors Include his widow, Helen Smith, Baltimore; six sons and daughters: Warren, Paragonah; Para-gonah; Dale, Beaver; Mrs. Ja-vene Ja-vene Gordon, Idaho; David, Marie and Judy, all of Baltimore; four grandchildren, one brother, J. H. Smith, Salt Lake City, and four sisters, Elene and Elene Jensen, Cedar City; Mrs. Freda Franz and Mrs. Edna Owen, Oakland, California. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Tuesday afternoon by Bishop's Bish-op's Counselor Lowell Sherratt. Speakers were Samuel F. Leigh and Bishop Clemont Adams. Invocation In-vocation was by George A."Wood, benediction by Thornton Jones, dedication of the grave by George Smith and prayer at the mortuary prior to the services by Henry P. Dotson. The musical program included the opening and closing songs, "My Father Knows," and "Lead Me Gently Home" by a mixed quartet composed of Lois McCon-nell, McCon-nell, Mamie Eck, Ray Cosslett and William Condie, accompanied accompan-ied by Beth Leigh, and a vocal solo, "The End of the Road," by Clive Hartman, accompanied by Mrs. Leigh. Prelude and pott-lude pott-lude organ music was by Clive Hartman. |
