Show Council Signs Grant Agreement, Lets Oiling Contracts Crant-in-ald from the Federal Aviation Agency was signed by the Cedar City Council at their meeting held Thursday evening. The grant-in-aid was in the amount of $29,372, which represents repre-sents 50 percent of the cost of re-' building the taxi-strip from the administration building at the Municipal Airport to the south' end of the North-South runway. At the same meeting Mayor Arnold Anderson was authorized to sign the contract to V. C Mendenhall Co., Inc. who had submitted the low bid for the project Street oiling contract was also let by the council at the meeting to Parry Sand and Gravel of Cedar Ce-dar City. Parry Sand and Gravel was low bidder on the street oiling oil-ing project with a bid of 10 cents per square root lor tne on mat and two and 25100 cents per square yard for the tact coating. ! Only other bid received was from Mendenhall Construction Co. whose bid was nine and 84 100 cents per square foot for the oil mat and six cents per square yard for the tact coating. In other action council granted water connection for LaMar Hamblln located In Cedar Canyon Can-yon outside the city limits. Agreement for hookup was for one year only and provided for review at the end of that period. Special council meeting will be held on August 10, Mayor Anderson An-derson Indicated. |
