Show Golden Vedding Approaches for Parley Dalleys An Informal reception to be held at the library lounge on the college of Southern Utah campus on Saturday, Aug. 20, will honor Mr. and Mrs. Parley Dalley on their Golden Wedding anniversary. anniver-sary. --- T"-l! 11 . , s....ja c nut v. -.. ... ed throughout the state and particularly par-ticularly in southern Utah for their work in the development of CSU and for their community support. Mr. and Mrs. Dalley and members mem-bers of their family will receive guests from 3 to 6 p. m. and from 8 to 10 p. m. Professor Emeritis Mr. Dalley, professor emeritus at CSU, was active as a member of the faculty at the college for 43 years before his retirement In 1952. Since that time he has been called upon by ' officials of the ollege to assist as the student population at CSU has grown. .He has taught geology, mathematics math-ematics and chemistry at the institution. in-stitution. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dalley are graduates of the Branch Normal School which later became the Branch Agricultural College and now CSU. Both were members of of the graduation class of 1905. Mrs. Dalley Is the former Mabel Ma-bel Naegle of Toquerville. Among their many other accomplishments ac-complishments the Dalleys were instrumental in the establishment establish-ment of a 50-year alumni association asso-ciation that meets annually at CSU In connection with the commencement com-mencement activities each year. Public Sendee In addition to his service at CSU Mr. Dalley has also been active ac-tive in other community developments develop-ments He served as mayor of Cedar Ce-dar City in 1923 and 1923 and was a member of the city council for a number of elective terms, superintendent of the Iron County Coun-ty Schools In 1912-13 and was the first president of both the old Commercial Club, which later lat-er became the chamber of-commerce and of the . Cedar City Rock Club, an organization in which he -is still extremely active. ac-tive. ' t') n ' All former students and other friends of the Dalleys are invited to attend the Aug. 20 reunion. |
