Mr. and Mrs. Vemile Matheson were honored at a reception Saturday evening following wedding ceremonies at the St. George Temple. The lovely bride is the former Laura Lee Crosby. Laura Lee Crosby Recites Vovs with Vernile Matheson in Temple Double Ring Ceremonies Saturday, Mar. 9 was the date chosen by Laura Loe Crosby andj Vernile Matheson for their wedding wed-ding day. The double ring cere- mony was solemnized in the St.! Goorge Temple by President Har-! old S. Snow. The couple were accompanied' through the temple by parents of j both, their grandparents, Mrs., Rhea Wakeling. Mrs. Luella Cros-; by, Mr. anil Sirs. Myron Jones,: Mrs. Emma Warren, Mr. and Mrs.! Neil Crosby, Mrs Lillian Wll-I liams, "Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Matheson, Math-eson, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Matheson, Math-eson, Mr. and Mrs Ivan Matheson and Mrs. F.lwin Armstrong. I Following the rites the bride-' groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs.! Evan Matheson, were host to a! wedding dinner In St. George at Dick's Cafe for members of the wedding party. Reception The newlyweds were honored Saturday evening in Cedar City at a reception at the stake house gtven by the parents of the bride,! Mr. and Mrs. Jack L. Crosby. I Serving as best man for Ver-' nlle was Allen Garfield. Laura I Lee chose her sister, Joyce, as her l maid of honor with bridesmaids, i Karen Matheson, Sara Jensen, ; Margene Isom and ReNee Palm-, Palm-, er. Flower girl was pretty Ja-Noll Ja-Noll Crosby, cousin of the bride. I Ushers were the groom's broth ers, Floyd and Cleon Matheson. The bride was attired In a floor-length model of nylon tulle over bridal satin. The chantilly laoe redingote was fashioned with long sleeves pointed at the j wrist, stand up collar and long train of self-embroidered lace on the sealloed edge. Her elbow length veil of bride's illusion fell from a pearl embroidered lace bridal bonnet. She was carrying car-rying a bouquet of yellow rosebuds rose-buds surrounding an orchid. The attendants wore gowns styled alike In peri winkle blue antique taffeta. They held nosegays nose-gays of yellow roses surrounding a gardenia styled after that of the bride. The wedding cake, made by Louise Englestead, centered the serving table. Pouring were the bride's aunts. Lillian Williams, Marva Palmer and Marva Arm strong and Emma Warren. The color theme of blue and yellow was detailed throughout the eve-nlng. eve-nlng. Serving GUIs 1 Serving girls wore white and blue net aprons, a gift from the bride. They were Avey Matheson, Janls Webster, Elayne Fife, Jackie Jack-ie Wlnterrose and Maxlne Haws. Passing the napkins was little Tamra McArthur. Receiving gifts at the door , were Jackie Crosby, Dona Lynssc Williams and Marie Adele Crosby. Cros-by. Mrs. Li His Spencer furnished lovely organ music during Ute? evening. I Hostesses were VaLalne Bladen Blad-en and Dixie Matheson. In charge of the guest book was Mrs. Gary Smith. j The Allanettes, under the direction di-rection of Aaron Hansen, sang: two numbers, as did Christine Winterrose. A duet was sung by ; George Grimshaw and Elwhi 1 Armstrong. j The mother of the bride was dressed in blue lace. Mrs. Mathe-Ison Mathe-Ison wore rose and both wore corsages of pink carnations. Present during the evening were 1 grandparents of the couple. In the gift room wer Bernlce McArthur. Vana Matheson and i Flora Munford. ' Assisting in the kitchen were Odessa Gentry, Ila Sherratt, Rhea Wakeling, Coleen WUllama and Marie Crosby. As her going away outfit the bride wore a gray pin-striped Jumper, gray top coat and black accessories. j Both bride and groom are graduates grad-uates of Cedar High and both at- tended College of Southern Utah where Laura Lee was affiliated with the Phi Alpha Bota. I After a honeymoon in Las Vegas Ve-gas the young couple will b at home in Long Beach, Calif. |
