Show Iron County Educators to Attend Conference-1 Ianthus Wright, superintendent of Iron County Schools and Miss Mary McMillan, curriculum director di-rector for the district, will attend at-tend the National Association for Supervisors and Curriculum Development conference In St. Louis, Mo., Sunday through Thursday, Mar. 17 to 21. Both have important assignments in the conference. Mr. Wright will serve on a special spe-cial clinic for appraising and planning for an effective in-service program. He will serve with four other superintendents from other parts of the country, with Karl W. Hassell, superintendent of Liverpool, N. Y. schools, acting act-ing as chairman. Wright left Cedar City Tues-day Tues-day morning to attend a meeting meet-ing In Salt Lake City of the Utah State Textbook Commission, of which he is a member, before leaving for the national conference confer-ence in St. Louis. Miss McMillan, who has received re-ceived much recognition, both .state and nationally, for her work as curriculum director, will serve in two capacities during the national conference. She will 'serve as a member of the 1958 'Yearbook Committee throughout the conference, and will also serve as group leader, and will direct the discussions in a "Study "Stu-dy of What Constitutes Effective Teaching." This group will parti-clpate parti-clpate in discussions during four days of the conference. |
