Show TluidWardM-MenNippedbyCedaiSixth I The Parowan Third Ward M-men M-men basketball team took second place In the Division Two tournament tourna-ment last week, dropping the championship game to the Cedar Sixth ward by a 74 to 53 score, after three of the seven-man Parowan squad had been called wirh five fouls. The third man to foul out, Roy Benson, Ben-son, finished the game which was already In the bag for the Cedar team. Parowan had won its first games in the tournament but was unable to match depth of the winners after three nights of play and riding back and forth from Las Vegas to their work on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Parowan won Its opener on Wednesday from Las Vegas Ninth by 66 to 52, won from Or-dervllle Or-dervllle 54 to 40 on Thursday night and then beat Enterprise 53 to 31 in the semi-finals for a very good record. Two Parowan players, Roy Benson Ben-son and David Orton won places on the all-tournament first five and received nice trophies, The team also received the tournament tourna-ment basketball for finishing in second place. Three of the Parowan team members were among the 11 highest scorers of the meet. Orton was fourth on the list with 67 points for a 16.7 game average. aver-age. Benson was eighth with 55 paints for a 13.7 game average and Clair Robinson was 10th with 54 points for a 13.5 game average. |
