Madsen, psychla-trist psychla-trist and director of the State Department of Mental Health, who is well known for his work with the mental health clinics, is one of the outstanding panel members. Other panel members will include Dr. Gordon Johnson, peychlatilst, and Gene Cox and Bruce Goates, psychologists. Each of the above panel members has been participating in the South. rn Utah Mental Health Clinic (hat has been operating in this area for the past three years. In addition LaRue Ford, Iron County Coun-ty public health nurse, and Willis Wil-lis Winn, principal of the West Elementary School, will serve on the panel to point out how the clinic has tied in with the schools and general public, in this area. Dr. Reed W. Farns-j worth has been been selected by the panel to act as moderator Members of the panel have been in the area for two days ol each month working with young people through the clinic. Refer-rals Refer-rals to the clinic come from the schools, local M.D.'s, and mothers moth-ers who feel a need of help for their children. As a result of the past work by the clinic the panel has many interesting things to point out to the general public. Emotional Disturbance are an illness that is no respecter of persons. per-sons. Like any illness or disease the earlier the treatment can be started the most successful are the results. The Iron County Extension Ex-tension Service, the College of Southern Utah, the Southern Utah Medical Association, and the Adult Education Committee of Cedar City, feel that this is one of the finest sujects that can be arranged for this area. It is hoped that the general public will give good response to the effort being made by the mem-hers mem-hers of this Important panel. |
