Show NEWCASTLE Mrs. Norma Christensen We didn't have a white Christmas, Christ-mas, but I'm sure the parents and grandparents of all the youngsters were glad for a nice, warm and sunny Christmas day, so much of the noise and confusion confu-sion of family gatherings could be outside. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine (Cleo) Ap-plegate Ap-plegate and baby son of Cedar City spent the weekend and Christmas with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Tullis. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Christensen Christen-sen gathered some of their family fam-ily around them for Christmas dinner. Enjoying the company of each other were Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Thomas and children of Enterprise, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Christensen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen and family of Newcastle. The Christmas holidays always call for many parties and we have had our share. The MIA held their Christmas party Tuesday Tues-day night in the ward hall. After many entertaining games and a program, sandwiches and punch were served to everyone. The Primary Association had their Christmas party Saturday night. After an evening of children's child-ren's dancing and singing, Santa Claus came. The delighted youngsters talked to him and received re-ceived bags of candy and nuts. The Escalante Valley School held a Christmas operetta Wednesday. Wed-nesday. The children performed well and their colorful costumes helped make the production a big success. After the program was over Santa Claus came and nresented each child with a sack of candy and nuts. A Christmas party vvos held Monday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Christensen. After an evening of games and visiting, a delicious ham luncheon lunch-eon was served. Mrs. Roberta Clark and daughter daugh-ter Bonnie of Cedar City were visitors at the home of their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piatt and also at the Warren Piatt home. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsyth and family of Cedar City visited in town Monday with many of their old friends. Mr. and Mis. Reed Prisbrey and family of New Harmony spent Christmas week end with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hulet. The Prisbcy family also visited at the Melvin Hulet home. I Mr. and Mrs. Trusten Hart and daughters Journeyed to . Hurrl-1 cane for a Christmas visit with Clara's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Stratton and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison and family visited in New Harmony Har-mony Monday uUn their folks, Ashby Pace and Mr. and Mrs. Darce Prince They returned in time to visit their daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Lydiat Morton and baby daughter daugh-ter of Summit. Mr. and Mrs. George Jolley and daughters Journeyed to King man, Utah, Monday morning to spend Christmas day v!th thir I many friends and relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Woolsey and family spent Christmas day with their mother, Mrs. Sarah Davis of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hart left Friday for Tuscon, Arizona, where they spent the Christmas holidays with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack (Margie) (Mar-gie) Lloyd of that city. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Hulet Journeyed Jour-neyed up from Las Vegas, Nev., to spend part of the Christmas week end with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hulet, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Del Vecchio, Beryl. They returned Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Christensen Christen-sen and family traveled to Leeds Tuesday where they visited Katherine's folks, Mr. and Mrs. David Stirling and other relatives. rela-tives. A birthday party for Marsha Harrison was held Tuesday in the Harrison home in honor of Marsha's 13th birthday. Nine guests were present and all en-Joyed en-Joyed games and refreshments. |
