Show tit. -r Y- MR. AND MRS. TRUMAN ROLLINS Cedar City Couple Will Serve Next Two Years I For L. D. S. Church in Australian Mission Mr. and Mrs. Truman Rollins ' of Cedar City have received a call from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve a two year mission, it was announced by Bp. Burton White of the Cedar City Ward. , A farewell testimonial in honor hon-or of Mr. and Mrs. Rollins has j been planned and will be held Sunday evening, Dec. 31 at 6:30 p. m. at the Cedar Stake House. Friends and relatives have been xtndd n Invitation to attend. The prominent Cedar City couple has been called to serve in the Australian Mission field. They will enter the mission! home in Salt Lake City on January Jan-uary 22, 1962, preparatory to! leaving for the mission field. Mr. and Mrs. Rollins are both natives of Minersville in Beaver County and they have made a home in Cedar City for the past 22 years. When first moving to Cedar City Mr. Rollins operated a dairy herd, then was appointed appoint-ed manager of the Intermountain Farmers Cooperative, a position ne nas herd ior approximately 13 years. The Rollines were married in the St. George LDS temple In 1924 and they have raised five children. All five of their children child-ren are married. They include La Rao Gulliford and Jeanette Slack, both of Cedar City; Boyd, an instructor at the University of Georgia at Athens, Ga.; Clark, ', a student at the University of 1 Utah in Salt Lake City, and Joan ! Thorley. Culver City, Calif. I Mr. Rollins has always been active in affairs of the LDS Church. He served as a coun- j selor and bishop in Minersville, served an LDS Mission to Call- j fornia in 1923 and 1924 and has j served as a counselor in the Ce- dar Third Ward Bishopric in Cedar Ce-dar City. At the present time he is aj member of the Cedar West Stake Senior Aaronic Priesthood committee, and prior to the division divi-sion of the Cedar Stake was a member of the Stake High Council. Coun-cil. Mrs. Rollins has served in presidencies pres-idencies of both Relief Society and Primary organizations. Speakers at the testimonial will include Bp. Paul Stokes, President Frank Day, Clark Rol lins, a son, with remarks by Bp. Burton White. Special musical numbers will include a duet by the Rollins' daughters, LaRae and Jeanette; a vocal trio by Vivian Marshall,' Sylvia Davis and Clarence Rollins, Rol-lins, and a vocal duet by Mr. and Mrs. Vaughan Thomas. |
