Show Local SUP Chapters Assume Pioneer Day Direction Sons and Daughters of Utah Pioneers chapters of Cedar City will sponsor the Pioneer Day ob-servance ob-servance here on July 24. Clem Judd. president of the SUP chapter, chap-ter, announces. Features of the day's activities activi-ties will be a pioneer program to be staged by the Sons of Pioneers, Pio-neers, and a luncheon to be served tha older people of the community by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. The program will be held in the First Ward chapel at 10:30 a. m. Details of the program were announced by Mr. Judd, but he assured everyone that some pleasant surprises were being be-ing prepared. He indicated that the program would feature pioneer pio-neer sketches, pantomime and pioneer dances, and urged everyone every-one to attend. The Cedar City High School band will entertain those who gather for the occasion, providing provid-ing a half hour of music before the opening of the program. The band will appear on the lawn In front of the chapel. Another feature will be the old fashioned 'lemonade barrel" to be set up at the chapel. Following the program the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will serve lunch in the banquet hall at the chapel. Every resident of the city over 65 years of age is invited. |
