Show Jr. High School Band Chosen For Salt Lake Pelade For the second successive year the Cedar City Junior High School marching band, under the direc-tlon direc-tlon of Gene Helland, will participate parti-cipate In the mammoth "Days of Forty-seven" celebration In Salt Lake City. Two days of extensive enter-talnment enter-talnment have been planned for the 70-piece group, Helland sta-ted. sta-ted. Two Iron County school buses will leave early Tuesday morning, morn-ing, July 23 to arrive in the capital cap-ital city by noon. The afternoon will be spent at Lagoon and housing will be had at the University Uni-versity of Utah campus. This Is furnished by the parade officials. Wednesday morning, July 24, the band will assemble downtown down-town in Lalt Lake City to march in the parade. This annual parade pa-rade Is by far the largest in the state and the Cedar City band was among the first chosen to participate after receiving many fine comments In the 1956 parade. pa-rade. The band will stay until the completion of the parade after which Its members will . board the buses and return home. "It will be a short, but highly active and entertaining excur-slon," excur-slon," Helland pointed out. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Osborne and Mr. and Mrs. Del V. Bryant will accompany the group as chaperones and Mr. Osborne and Mr. Bryant will also serve as bus drivers.
