Show CSD's Coach Osborne Announces Schedule lor Season Bruce Osborne, football coach of the College of Southern Utah announced this week an eight-game eight-game schedule for the 1956 -football season. Including five Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Collegiate Athletic Conference battle, and four home appearances. Local fans will get their first look at the C S U Broncos at an intra-squad game slated under the lights for Saturday. Sept. 16. The first game of the season 'or the Broncos will be at Ontar-o. Ontar-o. Calif., against Chaffey Junior College. The game will be played on Friday, Sept. 21. Home games will oe the Prongs Pron-gs meet Dixie College on Sept. Dugwav Proving Grounds on Oct. 12, Boise Junior College, perennial per-ennial conference champs, on Oct. 27 and Carbon College on Nov. 2. Other eames will see the Broncos Bron-cos at Rexburg, Idaho, against the Ricks College Vikings on Oct. 5; at Ephraim on Oct. 18 with Snow College, and at St. George for the conference tilt against the Rebels on Nov. 12. Coach Osborne Indicated that suits will be Issued on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8 and 9. with practice sessions to get under way on Monday, Sept. 10. From Sept. 10 through Sept. 21. when fall quarter opens at C S U, the boys will have two workouts dally. Workouts will be from 6 to 8 a. m. and from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. each day. This schedule will be maintained so that squad members can hold Jobs until the time school opens. They actually actual-ly will begin workouts two weeks In advance of the school opening. |
