Weeds Are One of Worst Enemies Weeds are plants gi owing where they are not wanted. They are more serious and cost us more than Insects and plant diseases dis-eases combined. They steal moisture mois-ture and fertility, reduct crop yields, and cost time and money for control County Aent Wallace Wal-lace Sjoblom those facts were emphasized at the Utah Weed Control Conference recently. Professor Delmar C Tingey, weed researcher from Utah State University emphasized that farmers far-mers and everyone concerned with weeds can get greater returns re-turns on dollars spent for weed control than on most things they do. However, he advised farmers not to consider chemical herbicides as a panacea for controlling con-trolling weeds in all situations. In over 40 years of reaserch he has found fiat combinations of good farming practices and chemical work best In handling some of the hard to control noxious nox-ious weeds.
