Show Parowan T Road Project to Get Under Way The first section of a road construction con-struction project in Parowan Valley, Val-ley, to be undertaken by the Iron County Road department, is ready rea-dy to get under way according to information given us by county coun-ty officials. This project will, as funds are available, re align and rebuild the old Parowan "V" road from the north limits of Parowan to where that road intercepts the Cedar City-Mlnersville road on Rushlake benches west of the Parowan Gap. That part of the road to be undertaken this year, with work to commence Immediately, will reach from the west city limits to the Daiton crossroads in Parowan Valley at the corners oi the Harley Daiton and Parowan Stake Farms., or a distance o t.l miles according to Commis sioner Ivan Matheson. The county has been working to get the right-of-way for tnc new road uliinmi-nt i-lonroi fn.n, property owners along the pro posed route, and we understand that these are now about completed.. com-pleted.. According to the survey, the new roud will leave Parowan ai the west end of 400 North Streei near the Clayton Taylor property. It will run west by slightly north to the Daiton farm intersection with only two slight curves, one as it leave the city and the othei as it comes back into the present highway In the Culver Lane. Plans call for the right of way to be fenced, cleared, graded and capped with gravel for the 4.1 milej In thU project, ana then for the road to be oiled as soon as it settles and Is packed to prevent breaking up when the oil Is laid. According to plans other parts of the road will be built as funds are available, with the entire project designed to furnish an oil-surfaced highway from Parowan Par-owan to connect with the Cedar-Mlnersvllle Cedar-Mlnersvllle highway across Rush Lake Benches, according to county coun-ty officials. |
