In Utah, nitrogen fertilir is the only fertilizer needed in most situations. If you use ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate, two light applications of 4 to 5 lbs. per 1000 square feet per season sea-son are sufficient. 2. Sprinkle heavily and infrequently. infre-quently. Lawns need about Inch of water per day in summer. sum-mer. Apply two inches at one sprinkling one clay loam soils and water once per week. Apply one Inch twice per week on loam and fine Bandy loam soils. In the hottest weather you may need to sprinkle more often. 3. Don't clip your grass too close to the ground. Leave at least 2',i to 2 inches so your grass will be vigorous and compete com-pete well with weeds. |
