Show Cedar Council Awards Well Drilling Contract; Hears Requests slaughter house. They were assured that if the plant Is within with-in the city boundaries they could qualify for water usage on the culinary system. Sam Carpenter and Bi onea met with the city to ask that they be assured the right to water to which they are entitled. The request was referred to the city engineer to check the Irrigation system and to devise a method to insure that those holding rights are able to obtain water. Lloyd Adams approached the council requesting a change in zoning regulations in connection with property south of Cedar City Ci-ty from residential to Highway Clair Stephei.son of Fillmore was awarded the contract for the drilling of a well to be used by Cedar City Corporation in the culinary water system, at a bid opening held In connection with the regular council meeting on Thursday night. The bid of Stephenson at $19 a foot for casing and drilling, was 1 the only one submitted and it was accepted, according to Mayor Kumen Gardner. Total cost of the well will be $3800, he indicated and a completion date of June 1 was set on the project Several groups met with the city with a series of requests. Wayne and Albert Smith met with the council to ask for a commitment on water availability availabili-ty at a meat processing plant which they are projoslng on the northwest outskirts of the city. The plant would also include a Services. The property has Just recently been annexed, it was stated, and the matter was turned over to the planning and zoning commission for study and recommendation. recom-mendation. The Council also discussed a new plumbing code which has been adopted by the State. City manager was instructed to investigate inves-tigate the code and discuss its possible adoption with those concerned con-cerned within the city. Action was tabled on the matter pending the report by the manager. , A request for the lease of the Airport Cafe to John Sereka of Brigham City was also discussed discus-sed at the session. Sereko has requested the lease to establish a pizza and Italian type restaurant restaur-ant The council agreed to work out a lease agreement for his consideration. |
