Severence Exchange Marriage Vows Mar. 20 Miss Shannon Corline Bryan was united in marriage to Edward Ed-ward Linscott Severance during a single ring ceremony performed perform-ed March 20th in the Cedar City Fifth Ward Chapel. Bishop Max Willis officiated. The former Miss Bryan Is & daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley R. Bryan, Cedar City. Mr. Severance Se-verance Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earie F. Severance, Sr., of Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Ariz. Setting for the reception was the Filth Ward Cultural Hall; the nuptial setting was of special significance to the bride as the Fifth Ward was built by her grandfather, the late George A. Wood. For the nuptials, Shannon wore a princess sheath of organza over satin with a chapel train. The overskirt of the gown was bordered bor-dered with embroidered lace and sequins. Completing the ensemble ensem-ble was a lace and crystal Princess Prin-cess crown with attached shoulder shoul-der length veil. Shannon held a bridal bouquet from tropicana roses. Matron of honor was Mrs. Paul Lovell. Mrs. Earle F. Severance, Jr., and Miss Elaine Cooper were bridesmaids. The attendants' dresses were made of apricot colored co-lored crepe and organza. They had matching hats and wrist corsages of white and tropicana roses. Standing as best man was Mr. Earle F. Severance, Jr., and ushering ush-ering was Merun wiaicK. Mother of the bride wore a copper cop-per colored lace dress and the bridegroom's mother wore a dress of white lace and linen. Both ladies were adorned with tropicana tropi-cana Rose corsages. During the reception, Mrs. Henry Bulloch served as guest book attendant. Kitchen hostess was LaKine Bradshaw and serving serv-ing table was Mrs. Max Willis. The Misses Gayle Willis, Bonnie Clark, Charlotte Pittard and Le-nora Le-nora Adams were serving girls. The gift room was attended by-Mrs. by-Mrs. Quenton Bowler. Mr. Larry Olsen played the wedding march for the ceremony. Following a brief honeymoon trip, the newlyweds returned to Cedar City where they are making mak-ing their home. Shannon, a graduate of Cedar City High School, has attended CSU and plans to graduate next year in the field of Business Education. She has been a president presi-dent of XI Lambda Tau while attending CSU. Shannon is now employed part time as a secretary secre-tary at I,unt Motor Company. Mr. Severance graduated from Holbim.k High School In Hol-brook, Hol-brook, Ariz., and is currently attending at-tending CSU as a Phyblca! Education Edu-cation major. Both grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. George A. Wood, Cedar Ce-dar City, and Mrs. E. J. Boggs, Overton, Nev., attended the wedding. wed-ding. Out-of-town guests included includ-ed Mrs. F. P. Binnle, Mountain View, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Lural M. Smith and daughters, Sever- lee, Luralee and Georgia, of Hacienda Ha-cienda Heights, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wood, Corona, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Boggs, Overton, Over-ton, Nev.; Mrs. Marvin Bryan, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bryan, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bryan, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Bryan, Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bryan and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Bryan of Salt Lake City. The new Mrs. Severance was honored at a bridal shower given by Mrs. Paul Lovell and Mrs. Earle F. Severance, Jr., at the home of Mrs. Alvin Bradshaw before the marriage. I AMI FIDEL An interesting history containing contain-ing the story of an early Cedar City resident, David Bulloch, was read in Ami Fidel club lasti Thursday evening by Mame Sul-loch. Sul-loch. The life and story of the late Mr. Bulloch also contained many incidents reflecting local history. Enjoying the lesson as guests were Winnie Thompson, Myrtle Heywood and Suzie Taylor Tay-lor who is a former member now residing in Salt Lake City. I LADY LIONS The Lady Lions' Pot Luck Supper Sup-per turned out to be a success as 42 people, including Lady Lions and their partners Joined together toge-ther Friday night for the social. Scene for the event, which had been planned by chairman Mrs. Reed Bradshaw, was the A.rport Cafe. The guests were entertained entertain-ed during the evening by Ross .Glass who played the organ. j READING CLUB ! Members of the Reading Club 1 met Friday afternoon at the ' home of Mrs. Ada Leigh with i Mrs. Annette Betenson assisting ; as co-hostess. The 12 ladies ! heard an informative lesson given gi-ven by Mrs. Florance Higbee who reviewed the book, 'The Dead Sea Scrolls" by O. Preston Robinson. Ro-binson. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Garff McMullln last week were Mrs. i McMullln's lrother-ln-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Anderson Ander-son of Salt Lake City. DAMES CLUB The CSU Dames Club will meet for their first social of the Spring Quarter next Wednesday, March 31st. Flection of new officers will tke place and additional Spring Quarter members will be welcomed wel-comed Jnto the club. Purpose of the organization is to Illustrate new and interesting ways of being be-ing a better homemaker and to provide a social atmosphere lor wives of married students on the CSU campus. During the March 31st meeting, a guest from Cedar Home Furnishings Fur-nishings will present a demonstration demon-stration and lecture on interior decorating. Mr. and Mrs. Roe Palmer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Higbee spent Friday in St. George with other family members mem-bers who gathered to honor Mrs. L. C. Leavitt of Santa Clara on her 88th birthday. A dinner and I social were held at the home of Mrs. James Andrus In St. George. 30 relatives including grandchildren grandchil-dren and great-grandchildren were on hand to pay tribute to Mrs. Leavitt. |
