Show Guard Unveils Military BdlPlain It was announced this week that the local unit of the Nation-1 al Guard will hold Its annual military baU again this year. Such highlights as a parade of queens e.nd coronation of "Miss 213th" will be featured at the ball. On Monday. ytbTTTTlSCr- queen contest will be held In th Armory, where each contestant will do her competitive number fur members of the Headquarters: Battery. The men In turn wiU then select their queen with the two remaining girls acting as attendants. at-tendants. Queen contestants are Miss Jert Smith, and. Miss Janet Flanlgan, Cedar City, and Mists Eleanor Adams of Parowan. The girls will be selected on the same general rules as govern the Miss. America contest. The winner of the local Misr 213lh contest will be entered lr. the Miss Utah National Cuardi contest to oe neld in Salt Lake City during March. The winner of Miss Utah National Guard! will represent Utah In the Chemj Festival held in Washington, D C. and will also be entered In the Miss Utah contest this fall. The local military ball is. set, for Friday. Feb. 17 in the College Col-lege of Southern Utah ballroom. Music will be by the Starliterw orchestra and the public is cordially cor-dially Invited. |
