Show PATRONS INVITED TO ATTEND I Activities Outlined by District For Boy Scout Week Observance National Boy Scout Week will be observed across the nation next week, Monday through Sunday, and the Cedar Ce-dar Breaks District committee of Cedar City has outlined a host of activities for the observance, Smoot Seaman, chairman, announces. Kicking off the activities in Cedar City will be a Cedar Ce-dar Breaks Court of Honor Sunday evening, Feb. 5 at the Cedar Stake House. This Court of Honor will be held at 6:30 p. m. and has been designated as a special activity of the week. In addition to the regular regu-lar advancement awards, special awards will be presented at this meeting, it is understood. Patrons of , the scout program have been encouraged to auend three particular pnases of the Scout observation in the city. First is the court of honor. Second, Sec-ond, parents and patrons have been encouraged to visit the troop meetings on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Each of the L D S wards has a troop in connection con-nection with the MIA meetings and troop meetings are hold in connection with the MIA sessions. ses-sions. Another troop, sponsored by the Eiks-Presbyterian Church, is held Tuesday evening in the basement of the Elks Lodge. The third event of scouting for the week is a special "bcout-O-Kama" to be held at the College of Southern Utah fieldhouse Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, eb. 8 at 7. This event is open to the public. The Scout-O-Kama will include a demonstration of scouting skills plus "fun" competitive games between the troops of the district. In addition to these programs, window displays wUl be put up throughout the downtown area, featuring the various projects of the troops within the district. Special programs for the civic clubs of the community have also al-so been arranged at which time the "Scout Program" will be explained. ex-plained. Sunday, Feb. 13, on the final day of the. national observance all scout troops will furnish programs pro-grams for their respective wards with the scouts furnishing talents and speeches. Each of the L D S Ward troops will appear at the ward sacrament meetings and the Elks-Presbyterian troop will furnish the program at the Presbyterian Pres-byterian church services. Troops of the district will also be competing for a special award, to be given to the troop with the highest, scout and scout parents, in attendance at the court of honor and the Scout-O-Rama.
