Show Economic Study to Be Undertaken in Educational Program Stimulated through a series of requests and in cooperation with the College of Southern Utah Adult Education program and a similar program of the Cedar City Coordinating Council, a series of classes will be introduced Monday Mon-day evening at the C S U lounge designed to develop a more thorough thor-ough understanding of community communi-ty economics. Monday at 8 p. m. the first in what is hoped to be a series of discussions will be undertaken by James K. Bagley, secretary, Utah Manufacturer's Association of Salt Lake City, as featured guest According to C. B. Cooley. chair, man of a committee established to undertake the projects, a registration reg-istration wiU be held following Monday's meeting and a future scries undertaken on the basis of the registration. A normal fee to handle necessary expenses will be asked, he stated. In an effort to present a well-rounded well-rounded program considering all angles of "community economics," econom-ics," a committee representing major industries and businesses of the area has" been assigned. From this committee and the individual in-dividual contacts it Is hoped that top economists in the various fields will be available to lead the series of classes. Serving on the committee Is Fenton Christiansen, labor representative; repre-sentative; Rulon Wood, government govern-ment employee representative; Lehl Jones, livestock; Wilson N. Lunt, business; Norman Heaton, civic organizations, and A. W. Stephenson, educational representative repre-sentative from the college. The committee already has put forth a tremendous effort to try to organize a program to tend to meet the needs of everyone and to stimulate an Interest In community economic affairs," Mr. Cooley said. 1 |
