Show City Acts to Collect Water Assessments, Considers Routine Matters at Monday Meet At the Monday night meeting of the Parowan City Council a number of Important matters concerning the city and Its residents resi-dents were discussed. One of these was the delinquent Irrigation Irriga-tion water assessments, quite a number of which haven't been , paid. City Treasurer Mrs. IIetta Mor-tensen Mor-tensen was instructed to publish a list of the delinquent water users and offer the water for sale on a first come, first served basis, ba-sis, the water to be kept on the stream and ditch as it is scheduled sched-uled for. This can be purchased by anyone who wants to pay the amount of the delinquent assessment, assess-ment, and use same for the 1965 Irrigation season. A list of the delinquent water assessments Is published in another an-other part of the Iron County Record In this Issue, with the amound needed to purchase the water listed. The Streets and Sidewalks committee, com-mittee, headed by Councilman C F. Burton made recommendations for the oiling of addition streets in the city with what money the city hai available for street improvements im-provements purposes. The recommendations recom-mendations of the committee were accepted with the committee commit-tee to go ahead with the proposed pro-posed program. Paul Fife, president of the Red Hill Wranglers met with the council to ask for the use of available materials for improving improv-ing the Inside rail at the city race track and the club was authorized au-thorized to use pipe beiij taken tak-en up from old city waier system line for this purpose. It was reported to the council that the most recent phase of the waterworks improvement project pro-ject is now complete, giving city resident 11 more blocks of improved im-proved and larger culinary water wa-ter lines. New "Stop Signs" have been placed on the intersection of 200 South at 200 East These signs require re-quire a full stop of east and west bound traffic on 200 South. Complaints had been received by the Public Safety committee of speeding in this area and intersection in-tersection which resulted In several sev-eral near accident The Planning Commission and Board of Adjustments met with the Council to further discuss the City Zoning Ordinance, and the duties of each as contained in the ordinance. |
