Show Cedar City Matron Dies, Services Held Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Wednesday, May 12 for Mrs. Rose Sorenson Anderson, 72, who died Sunday morning. May 9 following fol-lowing a lingering illness. Services were conducted in the Cedar Second Ward chapel and burial was in the Monroe cemetery, Sevier County. Mrs. Anderson was born June 4, 1892 in Spring City, Utah, a daughter of Fife and Matilda M. Sorenson. She married Dr. Orvil Anderson, Oct. 4, 1911 in the Mantl LDS Temple. She attended schools in Spring City and has been active in affairs af-fairs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life, serving in the Primary organization for 15 years as a teacher and counselor and for five and one half years as president presi-dent of the Stake Primary Board. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband. Cedar City; and sons, Dr. Forrest L. Anderson, Cedar City and Dr. John F. Anderson, An-derson, Salt Lake City. Also surviving sur-viving are eight grandchildren. Speakers at the services were Zoe Palmer and Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth with sentiments by Thirza Little and remarks by Bishop Bis-hop Gaylord Whitney, who conducted. con-ducted. Prayer at the mortuary was by W. Arthur Jones. Invocation was by Edward G. Matheson and the benediction by Adam Seegmiller with the grave at Monroe dedicated dedi-cated by Ferrll Sorenson. Special musical numbers included a vocal vo-cal solo by Herschel Neeley and a violin solo by Roy L. Halversen. Prelude and postlude music was by Myma Gentry. |
