Show I Early September Slated for Archery Hunt The archery season, first of the Utah deer hunts this year, will begin Saturday, Sept. 2 and run through Sunday, Sept. 17, Saunders Clark, director of tht? regional office of - the . department depart-ment ot fish and game, notei' today. Rules and regulations covering cover-ing the archery season were set by the Board of Big Game Control Con-trol last month and include the following: Permits for the season may be obtained beginning Thursday, Aug. 17, from the regional office located in Cedar City in th" Parks Office Building, Clark stated. Permits may also be obtained ob-tained from the department's general office in Salt Lake City or other regional outlets by either mail or personal application. applica-tion. Cedar City game license agents will also have the archery arch-ery permits available. Cedar City is one of five communities in the state that will have license li-cense agencies carrying these permits, Clark pointc-i out. Applications must include the applicant's full name, address, big game license number and the $3.00 fee. KBBBSoaoBHoBooKoooloooooooolooooSflBnol Archery permits are not calss ed as special deer permits so applicants ap-plicants may also apply for and receive two special permits during dur-ing the regular deer hunt. Once again this year the Board ruled regular license deer tags may be filled by arc.urs possessing an archery permit during the early bow hunt. The carrying of any type firearm fire-arm during this bow hunt is classed a illegal and it will, once again, be unlawful to hunt, or discharge arrow, from any vehicle. Archers this year may have their choice of either red or yellow yel-low headgear. The entire State, with the exception ex-ception of the Ute Indian Tribal lands, will be open for the early September hunt. |
