Under the lease the College would assume responsibility of catering to a number, of large civic organizations, it was stated. stat-ed. Howard Foulger, supervisor of the Dixie National Forest, met with the chamber board and brought its members up to date on contracts that have been let for the oiling of the access road to Navajo Lake and also oiling at the Duck Creek Ranger Station Sta-tion and campground area. Foulger also recommended to the board that efforts be made to have the Cedar Breaks-Panguitch Lake road, approximately 17 miles in length, of which 11 miles are in Iron County, placed plac-ed on the Federal Aid Secondary Second-ary Road System. It was recommended recom-mended that the Iron County Commissioners be approached in making this request. Foulger also reported to the Chamber of Commerce that the Forest Service l;a 1 received permission per-mission to move from the Federal building owing to the crowded conditions in that building. Chamber recommended and took action to consider the securing se-curing of the Petty building, now occupied by Safeway Store, as a possible site for suitable office space. |
