Show LIVING IN THE ESCALANTE VALLEY , LIONS TIvj Escalante Valley Lions are sponsoring a dance on Saturday Sa-turday night, August 19, at 9:30. Music will be furnished by Herbert Her-bert Knell's orchestra. LADIES CLUB The Ladies Club enjoyed an evening of swimming and a chicken and shrimp supper at Veyo Tuesday, Aug. 8. Special guests were Mary Moyle's mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Caroline Vincent of Provo and Mrs. Dorothy Lyons of Los Angeies, a trend of Juanita Jua-nita Butler. Cub members present were Miriam McGary, Dorothy Gardner, Francis Piper, Melba Gardner, Mary Moyle, Juanita Butler, Jean Lane, Janice Wood, Pat Moyle, Jean Jolley, Ellen Clark Merlene Austin, Edith Force, Rosilla Hills and Georgia Moyle. HUNT FAMILY REUNION The Hunt Family Reunion was held at Pine Valley Saturday, August 12. A program was given by the family, which included singing, dancing, string band numbers, accordian and guitar numbers, readings, family history his-tory and election of officers. A delicious late afternoon meal was enjoyed by a large crowd of relatives from over the state of Utah and Nevada. A dance was held in the evening at Enterprise. Enter-prise. Those attending from the Valley were the Ray V. Hunt family, the William Hunt family fam-ily and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moyle. CUB SCOUTS The Cub Scouts of Dens I and II were entertained at the home of Mrs. Phyllis Wood Tuesday, Aug. 8. Mrs. Juanita Butler took the cubs for an outing to the old Holt mine on the west side of Escalante Valley. They returned to Mrs. Butler's home where they played croquet and were served refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holt are planning a swiming party in the near future at Veyo for the cubs of Dens I and II. HERE AND THERE Little Jay and June Hunter of Salt Lake City have been with their grandparents, the Charles Bosshaidts, for two weeks and will remain until after Labor Day. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Malan and two children of Button Willow, California, near Bakersfield, spent a week with Bill's folks, the Charles Bosshardts. Mrs. Gordon Moyle and daughter daugh-ter spent the week end at Logan and Salt Lake City in preparation prepara-tion for Marjorie entering the Utah State University this fall, and visiting relatives. Mrs. Nora Austin is here from Zion Canyon visiting with her sons Bryner Wood and Marshall Austin and families. Mr. and Mrs. John Lyon and son Johhny, George Lyon and daughter Susie of Los Angeles have been at the Escalinte Farms the past week. Jack Godard was here from BYU over the week end, visiting his parents and sister, the Dewey Godards. He took his neices and nephew, Becky, Debra and Randy, who have been visiting with their grandparents, back with him. |
