Show Conference Sessions Will Stress Leadership, Welfare President Howard D. Knight received word from the LDS Church headquarters last week end that there will be no representatives repre-sentatives from the general authorities au-thorities in attendance at the quarterly conference of Parowan Stake on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 27,. President Knight states that the conference sessions will be as announced in these columns last week with the Welfare meeting meet-ing at 6:30 p. m. Saturday and a Priesthood Leadership meeting at 8 p. m. that day, with both of the meetings to be held in the Parowan Third Ward cha,W General Session General session of the conference confer-ence on Sunday, also to be held in the Third Ward chapel, will be at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m., and special assignments for the four meetings as made by the stake presidency will be as follows: I At the Welfare meeting all welfare committee members, both ward and stake, are expected expect-ed to be in attendance. At the meeting, Eugene Warren of the Second Ward bishopric will offer of-fer the invocation and Spencer Lemmon of the Third Ward bishopric bi-shopric will offer the benedic tion. Clark Lamoreaux of the Para-gonah Para-gonah Ward bishopric will open the Leadership meeting with Raymond Christiansen of the Enoch Ward bishopric offering the closing prayer. Expected to be present in addition to the stake presidency will be the high council, stake priesthood quorum officers and committees and clerks, group leaders, and assistants, as-sistants, all bishoprics and ward clerks and priesthood class instructors. in-structors. Sunday Morning Sessions The Sunday morning general session will be opened by Boyd Walker of the Summit Ward bishopric with Ralph Hulet of the First Ward bishopric offering offer-ing the benediction, the Sunday afternoon session will be opened by Sherwin Benson of the First Ward bishopric and the benediction benedic-tion will be offered by Dolph Grimshaw of the Enix-h Ward bishopric. Special music for thest sessions will be furnished by the First Ward Primary children and a social priesthood chorus. Pres. Knight concludes. |
