Show Miss Iron County Pageant Plans Outlined The second annual Miss Ironj County Pageant will be staged In Cedar City Friday evening, Sept. 1 as the kickoff of the 1961 edition of the Iron County Fair. At the pageant Miss Iron County Coun-ty for 1901-62 will be named to reign over activities of the Fair through Monday. Sept. 4. In addition ad-dition Miss Iron County will participate par-ticipate In the Miss Utah State Fair contest later in U.e month in Salt Lake City. Cedar City Junior Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Miss Iron County contest with Jens Jensen serving as general chairman chair-man of the event. Named as master of ceremonies for the pagent was Eugene T. Woolf. Also on hand will be Miss Barbara Bar-bara Ann Graff of Parowan who has reigned as Miss Iron Coun ty during the past year. Miss Graff will relinquish her title and will crown the new Miss Iron County for the coming year. The pageant will be staged at the College of Southern Utah auditorium and will begin at 8 p. m., Jensen stated. The committee anticipates that each community of the county will be represented In the contest con-test this year and names of the candidates and their sponsors will be announced next week, Jensen said. At the pageant each of the contestants will participate In a talent presentation, a short Interview In-terview and will appear In formal for-mal attire and In a bathing suit. Judging will be based on poise, personality, knowledge of Iron County and its history, talent and beauty of face and figt r:. |
