Show HAPPENINGS IN PAMGONAH By Nora Lund A 1c AJbert Jones is here for a . visit with his folks, the Grant and Howard Jones families. He is stationed at Lincolun, Neb., and will return to his camp on August Aug-ust 10. Mr. and Mrs Rex Robinson and family of Rifle, Colo, are vacationing vaca-tioning here with relatives. Dale Robinson and Murray Topham left during the week for Elsinore Calif, to join their friend, Dale Smith, who has employment em-ployment there. Miss Patsy Topham is In Salt Lake City for a week's stay with the Earl LeFevre and Earl Topham Top-ham families. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Engle-stead Engle-stead have arrived in town to spend a month's vacation from their mission as workers In the St. George Temple. They are staying with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones Mr. and Mrs. James Robb and children arrived in town from Salt Lake City Saturday. They have just purchased a new home and came for some of their belongings, be-longings, as well as a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robb, and Mary's sister, Mrs. Irene Robinson and family. Mrs. Leonard Hardy and her daughter Carol Ann, and Mrs. Alice Gubler and son Gordon, came up from LaVerkin Sunday to spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Barton and family. Mrs. Hardy and Mrs Barton are sisters. Miss Cecil Ann Hardy will spend a week here with her cousin, Miss La Vena Barton. The Paragonah Scouts entertained enter-tained the Explorers at a marsh-mallow marsh-mallow roast at the Five Mile Tuesday evening. In a separate gathering earlier in the evening the Mia Maids' held forth in the same area. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Evans spent a part of Sunday in Pan-guitch Pan-guitch visiting Mrs. Evan's folks. Miss Laura Lamoreaux spent a day or two in Ridifield with the Clinton Robinsons. LaGrande and Clifford Robb and Wilson Lund spent the holiday holi-day week end home with their families from their employment in Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Robinson and daughters spent a few days here with the Chester Robinsons. They make their home in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Gllger attended at-tended meeting and other activities acti-vities connected with the John Lowe family reunion on Sunday i in Parowan. In our Sacrament meeting on Sunday Mrs. Emma Dalton and John C. Barton told interesting history and stories of the early Paragonah pioneers befitting to the 24th of July. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Matheson and children of Cedar City spent two days here with the Doyje Robinsons. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Jones, Albert Al-bert and Tom, went to Panguitch to attend the Pioneer Day Celebration Cele-bration in that community. A large number of our townspeople towns-people attended the annual race meet in Beaver on Monday. Mrs. Alpine Thornton of Las Vegas was In town Monday to visit her sister, Mrs. Herbert topham top-ham and family. Mrs. Vern McBrlde has spent a week in the Iron County Hospital. Hos-pital. She returned home on Tuesday. Saturday evening the Parowan Stake MIA board entertained all Mutual workers of the six wards and their partners at a supper at the Vermilion Castle recreation camp. About 90 people were served, after which, VerJ Taylor was master of ceremonies for a campfire program. Robin Lamoreaux left Friday for Salt Lake City to attend the Pioneer Day celebration. Mrs. Marie Smith of Phoenix, Ariz. Is here with her sister, Mrs. Bertha Topham, and In Parowan with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stevens. Duane Lamoreaux. Kenneth Topham and Deanna Robb, mem bers of the popular accordion band, traveled to La Verkin on Sunday afternoon where they participated that evening in the regular 24th of July celebration of that town. On Monday the boys played with the band in Cedar City's program, also Heber Lund played with them in Cedar City. The Trail Builder boys of this ward and their parents met Friday Fri-day evening at the Five MUe for their Fun-da-lay program. A lunch and campfire program were in order for the evening. Mrs. Dortha Barton and children chil-dren joined her parents' and other oth-er members of the Sorenson family fam-ily at Navajo Lake Monday. They enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery and the cool mountain air. Mrs. John C. Barton and Mrs. Delia Partner traveled with Mrs. Arlene Warren to Las Vegas over the week end to visit Mrs Gwen Mellonie. Judge and Mrs. Renz L. Jennings Jen-nings of Phoenix, Ariz, visited Mr. and Mrs Terry Lund on Tuesday. Tues-day. Pioneer Day was very pleasant-,ly pleasant-,ly celebrated here Monday, July 24. A good program was enjoyed in the forenoon with sports, game and refreshments indulged iri after, and a considerable sum of money was collected toward our ward buldlng. Mrs. Hannah Robinson and her daughter Ada returned Monday night from Salt Lake City where they had spent the last week. ' Heber Lund and Leslie Barton returned Monday from a vacation vaca-tion in Long Beach, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Abbott left Wednesday to attend the funeral fu-neral services for Mr. Abbott's sister, Mrs. Luella Abbott Leavitt in Bunkcrville, Nev. |
