Show Highway Mishap Claims Kanarra Resident v -vv yA ROSE MARIE DURRANT Funeral services are to be conducted con-ducted in Kanarraville this afternoon, af-ternoon, Thursday, for Mrs. Rose Marie Durrant, 18, who was killed in a grinding automobile accident on Highway 91 near Summit Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Durrant, enroute to northern north-ern Utah to attend a family reunion, re-union, was riding with her husband hus-band when his car crashed into a south bound California car which had skidded out of control on the wet pavement. Her husband, Ronald Durrant, was seriously injured, suffering a badly fractured frac-tured .left leg, broken ribs and multiple lacerations.. However, he is reported to be recovering satisfactorily at the present time. Three occupants of the other car, Miss Charla Lee Ferry, 17, Lincoln, Calif., driver, and her grandparents, Lucas Schaffer, CO, Roseville, Calif., and Mrs. Viola E. Schaffer, 57, were all seriously serious-ly injured but seem to be recovering re-covering satisfactorily. Highway Patrolman J. Lowe Barton and Robert J. Reid, and Iron County Sheriff Arthur Nelson, Nel-son, who investigated the accident, acci-dent, said that for some reason the car driven by Miss Ferry suddenly sud-denly went out of control, spinning spin-ning in front of the northbound Durrant car, the two cars crashing crash-ing with such force that both were practically demolished, and it seems to be a miracle that any of the passengers escaped with their lives. Mrs. Durrant died before reaching reach-ing the hospital, having suffered head Injuries in the crash. Miss Ferry is suffering from a badly broken leg and chest injuries. Her grandfather suffered a crushed crush-ed foot and shock, and hei grandmother suffered multiple InrnrntlnnQ nnrt chnrlf Mrs. Durrant was'born in Kanarraville Ka-narraville on Mar. 24. 1937. a daughter of the late Wells Williams Wil-liams and Mrs. Ethna Williams Ford. She married Ronald Durrant Dur-rant of Cedar Cltv in 1954. She is" survived" by her hus-band, hus-band, her mother. Kanarraville: four brothers, Roland.
