Show NEWCASTLE Mrs. Mildred Tullis A Pioneer Day celebration was held Saturday under the direction direc-tion of the MIA officers. At 10 a. m. the townspeople assembled assem-bled at the Thomas Forsyth place for a program followed by sports and refreshments. Monday afternoon the Frimary sponsored a dance for the children chil-dren which completed the Hon-eer Hon-eer Day celebration. We really got our rain Sunday Sun-day afternoon. It rained hard for nearly two hours causing some floods but doing a great deal of good. Mrs. Bonnie Riggs and children returned to Las Vegas Tuesday after spending a week here with her mother, Mrs. Geneva Gillies. While here Bonnie and her mother moth-er went to Ely, Nev., to visit Mr. Riggs, who Is temporarily employed em-ployed in the Nevada city. They spent Saturday and Sunday seeing see-ing the sights in that part of the state, including the famous Lehman's Leh-man's Caves, the big copper pit at Ruth and the beautiful Kcnni-cott Kcnni-cott Ranch near McGill. Elders Grant Lee of Panaca and Albert Holt of Enterprise were special speakers in meeting Sunday. Miss Karolyn Knell came home to spend the holiday week end with her people. Karolyn is working work-ing in Las Vegas as a telephone operator. Mrs. Ruth Porter returned to Leeds Monday after spending a week with the Wilson Scott family. fam-ily. Mrs. Gordon Knell and Michael and Kathleen are visltine in Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Neilson of Washington, Utah, have moved to Newcastle where Mr. Neilson has employment. Mr. and Mrs'. Russell Christen-sen Christen-sen and family spent Sunday In Leeds. Mr. and Mrs. Meade Forsyth and children were over from Cedar Ce-dar City Saturday to Join with us in our Pioneer Day celebration. |
