Show Many Paintings Promised For Art Exhibit Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, chairman chair-man of the Cedar City Spring Art Exhibit, reports that paintings paint-ings have already begun to arrive ar-rive for the twelfth annual exhibit ex-hibit which opens here on Sunday, Sun-day, April 20, and continues Sunday, May 4. He states that so many artists have indicated a desire to exhibit in the annual Cedar City show that it has become be-come necessary to limit the number of paintings that may be accepted, and that a careful selection se-lection be made in order that a wide range of paintings may be hung, and that unusual works .will not be eliminated. Among the outstanding artists who have indicated that they will have paintings in the exhibit exhi-bit are Lucille Brown Green, Long Beach; Harry Leith Ross, New Hope, Pa.; Mina Conant, Denver; Emil J. Kosa, Jr., Los Angeles; Roman Andrus, Provo; Robert W. Daley, San Bernardino Arnold Menches, Los Angeles; Frank Vavra, Denver; Ted Schuyler, Schuy-ler, . Albuquerque; Vance Kirk-land, Kirk-land, Denver; George S. Dibble, Salt Lake City; Eve Drewelowe, Boulder, Colo.; Paul Laurltz, Los Angeles; Kady B. Faulkner, Kenosha, Ken-osha, Wis.; Clarence Millett, New Orleans; Ila McAfee, Taos, N. M.; Everett G. Jackson, San Diego; William Sanderson, Arvada, Colo.; J. Richard Sorby, Denver; Elizabeth Ferguson Sorby, Denver; Den-ver; Noman S. Chamberlain, Corona Cor-ona del Mar, Calif.; Erie Loran, Berkeley; Lee Clark Schuyler, Albuquerque, N. M.; Michael Cannon, Salt Lake City. All but very few of this group have exhibited here before, most of them nearly every year since the annual show began. Announcements is made that Warren Wilson of the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan will be the guest speaker at the opening progran. of the annual exhibit. He will discuss trends in modern art, it is understood. Wood carvings by Prof. Wilson and wood sculptures by Lavel Morris will be shown during the opening meeting. |
