Show Local Teacher Found Dead In Apartment Mrs. Ethel Ashdown I'erry. 05, for many years a teacher in the Cedar City school, was found dead in her apartment at 7:30 p. in. Tuesday, according to local police officers who had been called to the home to investigate. investi-gate. Mrs. Terry was living in a basement apartment of her home on Second West street, and when occupants of the home realized that they had not seen her about the place Monday or Tuesday, called officers to Investigate. Mrs. Terry was found lying on the floor of her apartment where she had apparently collapsed from a heart attack Sunday morning. Her husband, George VV. Terry, had been at the Terry farm in Cedar valley during the week, and as a result her death was not discovered until neighbors neigh-bors investigated. ' Mrs. Terry was born in Cedar City on March 14, 1883, a daughter daugh-ter of George and Elizabeth Jackson Jack-son Ashdown, pioneer residents of Iron county. She was among the first group to graduate from Cedar City public schools and attended the Branch Normal school here and the University of Utah. After completing her education she taught in Layton and Nephl before returning to Cedar City where she taught for nearly 30 years in the elementary schools. She was married to Mr. Terry In the Salt Lake temple on October Octo-ber 3, 1918. Besides her husband she is survived by a brother, Fred Ashdown. Ash-down. Cedar City, and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Stubbs, Cowley, Wyoming. Wy-oming. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted by Bishop Roscoe Grover in the College ward chapel at 2 D. m. Fridav. |
