Show OUR SCHOOLS ELEMENTARY On Tuesday September 28 the four second grade had a delightful de-lightful party at the City Park, given by Mrs. J. S. Prestwlch In honor of her son, Ramon. The children had ice cream and cookies cook-ies and other "goodies", and played games planned by their teachers and it was really a red letter day for Cedar 2nd grades. Friday promises to be another wonderful day for at least three of the grades. The children from Mrs. Luke's and Mrs. Bauer's second sec-ond grades are taking their lunch Friday morning and going with their teachers on a "Pine Nut Hunt" down on Leigh hill. It will be a lot of fun. Friday at 2:00 Mrs. Booth's 1st grade is having a "Pet Show". At the program the children will describe their pets over the loud speaker. The ones who have no pets will be dressed as little circus animals and will do tricks. After the program in the hall, the children will take their parents into their room and serve them animal crackers and pink lemonade. lem-onade. The children will make the crackers and lemonade themselves. them-selves. They are very happy and excited about their "Pet Show." All of the teachers in the Elementary Ele-mentary school are spending every ev-ery spare minute studying plans for school buildings. At their meeting on Monday night (each Monday night the teachers are meeting to discuss plans and objectives ob-jectives in modern schools and school buildings), Dr. Deese P. Maughan, - head of the Education Educa-tion department of the B A C, and Robert Gardner, Cedar City's architect, met with them to talk over and help solve their different dif-ferent problems. Really outstanding work is being done by the teachers. Every Ev-ery committee is working hard. No objectives nor plans were ever more carefully studied,, or talked over more earnestly. With the ideas and suggestions that these committees will be able to pass on to the architects, the new Cedar City schools, should be the finest and most perfectly perfect-ly planned in the country |
