With the completion of the new bleachers pictured above, Cedar City baseball fans can now look forward to enjoyment of the National pastime. Bulloch, president of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, right, congratulates congrat-ulates Mayor Gronway R. Parry, center, upon completion of a fine new baseball field for Cedar City. Mr. Bulloch made presentation of new bleachers to the city and voiced the hope that the city would take the initiative in organizing a baseball program that will provide recreation for hundreds of young people of the city. Willard Lunt, chairman chair-man of the city recreation committee, looks on with approval as the field for which his committee has worked and hoped for becomes a reality. Lunt, former Mayor of Cedar Ce-dar City, look over the new baseball field, the plans fpr which were formulated in 1940 when Mr. Lunt was Mayor and Mr. Bulloch deeded seven acres of land to the city as a gift. This was the first major step in the development of a recreation park that ultimately will become one of the finest in the state. Mr. Bulloch's generous gift Is a contribution to civic betterment that will be rellectcd in Cedar City for many years to come. in years Cedar City can boast of a playing field of which its citizens can be proud. Completion of the field is a tribute to cooperative spirits of individuals nnd civic groups in providing community recreation facilities. |
