Show 4-H Club Leaders1 Represent County At Training Meet Five 4-H club leaders represented represent-ed Iron county at the annual 4-H club training school. The school was held at the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan, March 1 to 4, inclusive. Carl Cox of Cedar City met vlth the sheep club leaders. Elena Perry of Cedar City represented the county in the Home Furnishing group. Jean Evans of Parowan took special work in cotton and rayon finishes In the clothing classes. Mae Fairbanks of Cedar City worked work-ed with the advanced clothing and tailoring group. Louis C. Maxwell of Cedar City represented the county beef clubs, but also met with state poultry club leaders. Carl Cox was named as one of the state leader committeemen for the coming year. Mrs. Mae Fairbanks Fair-banks won first place in the state on Judging. The National and State organizations organi-zations were represented by Mr. James Oray and Miss Emmie Nelson Nel-son of Washington, D. C. and President Pres-ident Franklin S. Harris,, Director W. W. Owens, David Sharp, Jr. Fern hlpley, R. Welling Roskelly and R. L. Wrlgley of Logan. In addition to the fine programs and project training, the state leaders lead-ers were entertained by the Extension Exten-sion faculty at a dancing party at the institute. A fun fest at the gymnasium, gym-nasium, and a candlelight and campflre meet at the stadium. Mr. Ruben Hansen, county agent, took the Iron county leaders to visit vis-it some of the fine dairy anl beef projects in Cache county. Mrs. Bernice S. Llnford, . Iron County Home Agent, attended thej convention and assisted In teaching the clothing groups. Mrs. Llnford will attend a special tailoring school I for southern Utah Home Agents I March 15 at Fillmore, Utah. She 1 will return to the county March 24. |
