Show Car Company Ups Production oi New Automatic Drive About 50 per cent of the Commander Com-mander model production in the Studebaker factories now is devoted de-voted to cars with the new Studebaker Stude-baker automatic transmission, according to Paul J. Cox of the Cox Motor Company whose sales and service agency for Cedar City is located at 501 South Main street. The Cox Motor Company has already received several samples sam-ples of the Commanders which include Land Cruisers and with the anticipated arrival of more from the west coast factory' near Los Angeles, will soon be making deliveries, it is stated. The new automatic transmission transmis-sion designed by Borg -Warner for Studebaker. after long and exhaustive ex-haustive tests lasting many months, is being offered as optional op-tional equipment. However, since it embraces the flexibility of the automotive overdrive, this is no longer needed as extra equipment, equip-ment, it is explained. The automatic overdrive, is still available in all Champion models which are being produced produc-ed with the standard gearshift transmission, it is announced. According to word received by Mr. Cox from west coast headquarters head-quarters at the assembly plant In southern California, that factory fac-tory has already been forced to step up production to meet the demand for all parts of the West. |
