Show n v v Local Boy Receives Award at Special Y Assembly Among the Brigham Young University students receiving awards for their outstanding work during the past school year is T. Leonard Rowley, son of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Rowley of Parowan. A special award assembly was held during which time these students were presented with awards. Mr. Rowley received the Mack Club Award," an award of $35 given annually to a junior or senior student of the Speech department attaining the highest high-est average in scholarship and excellence in Speech Arts. Mr. Rowley, a junior in the college of fine arts, has participated partici-pated in several school plays and recently won a superior rating in the Poetry speaking festival in Logan. He also served as editor of the B. Y. Universe during the summer of 1949. While attending the BYU, Mr. Rowley and his wife, the former Wanda Whitmore. Sandv. are making their home in Provo. He is a graduate of the Parowan high school, attended the B. A. C. and is a veteran of World War number II. |
