Show Wazd Stai Trackman At Montana State The sports section of the Sunday Sun-day daily newspaper from Salt Lake City, carried a story giving results of a track meet held on Saturday at Bozeman, Montana, which was won by Montana State college of the Rocky Moun-tain Moun-tain conference. This conference is made up of smaller colleges in the region, with other schools besides the winner being: Colorado State, Colorado College. Colorado School of Mines. Western State and Idaho Ida-ho State college. One performer stood out in the meet and we quote from the Tribune Tri-bune account of it as follows: "High point man for the meet was Jim Ward of Montana State, who gathered 19 points with firsts in the javelin and 440-yard dash, seconds in the 220 yard dash and broad jump, and a point from running on the relay team." Jim Ward is a son of Frank Ward, former Parowan star athlete ath-lete and center on the famous Golden Bobcat basketball team of Montana State in the late 20s. and who is now director of housing hous-ing and veterans affairs at that school. |
