Show Weddings Head Social Activities Miss Helen Munford Weds in Candlelight Fete A wedding reception will be held Friday, June 2 for Miss Helen Mdnford and Clesson Bauer, who were married Wed-day Wed-day evening in a quiet candlelight can-dlelight ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. The lovely bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Munford Mun-ford of Cedar City. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bauer of Cedar City. Officiating at the services was Bishop A. E. Whatcott of the Cedar Ce-dar Third ward, L D S church. The reception Friday will be held -from 8 until 10 p. m. in the Relief Society room of the Third ward. The newly weds are both graduates grad-uates of Cedar City high school, with the groom having attended the Branch Agricultural college during the past school year. They will make their home in Cedar City while the groom continues his studies at the BAC. Lovely Young Bride I Recites Vows In Home Ceremony Miss Dora Alger became the bride of Gerald Gower at a lovely love-ly wedding ceremony performed at the home of the groom on Saturday, Sat-urday, May 20. The young bride is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Alger, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester M. Gower, all of Cedar City. Performing the ceremony before be-fore a small group of relatives and close friends was Bishop C. B. Crane of Clrcleville. Standing as best man and matron of honor hon-or were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gower of Cedar City. A reception was held following the ceremony, after which the bride and groom left on a wedding wed-ding trip. The newlyweds are making their home In Cedar City where the groom is employed. W J V Temple Rites Unite Young Cedar Couple A weddipg ceremony in the St. George L. D. S. Temple on Saturday, Sat-urday, May 20, united in marriage mar-riage Miss Mary Morris and John C. Brown, both of Cedar City. Miss Morris is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Durham Morris, while the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Brown. Officiating at the ceremony was Pres. Harold Snow of the St. George Temple. Following the temple wedding a reception was held for the bridal bri-dal couple from 7:30 to 10 p. m. in the Third ward Relief Sociey-rooms Sociey-rooms in Cedar City. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Roene Morris, a sister-in-law of the bride. Robert Rob-ert Bradshaw was best man. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Mary Morris, Miss Donna Brown and Miss Joanne Rollins. Following the reception, the young couple left on the wedding trip to California. They will live in Cedar City while fK'y both continue their studies at the Branch -Agricultural college. Mr. Brown has been active in debating circles at the BAC and is a member of the Gamma Psi fraternity. The new bride is a member of the Iota Beta sorority. Both were awarded scholarships scholar-ships to the BAC at graduation exercises held last Friday. Miss Morris was awarded a scholarship scholar-ship in Foods and Textiles, while Mr. Brown won his scholarship in Public Speaking and Debate. Miss Edith Jolley To Recite Vows This Evening Miss Edith Jolley, daughter of Mrs. Bertha Jolley of Cedar City, will be married to Robert Hunter this evening at a ceremony at the home of the bride before a small group of relatives and close friends. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hunter of Cedar City. Bishop Leo Larson of the Cedar City Fourth ward. LDS church will officiate at the services. Mrs. Gam Hirschi, a sister, will attend the bride as matron of honor, while Max Bonzo will stand as best man. Following the wedding ceremony cere-mony a reception will be held in honor of the newlyweds. Following the wedding trip, the young couple will make their home in Cedar City, where the groom is employed. Both have attended schools in Cedar City. |
